Quality Change is Incremental

Do you feel better than yesterday? Physically and emotionally; This conversation comes up daily with my clients and is often centered around conversations of pain management/improvement/correction. Every person's case is different. Every set of circumstances compounded over time creates for a different hierarchy of needs for each person. I often describe dysfunction or habit building to onions, house building or layers of cake

Looking for the biggest opportunity to make my clients feel better each day is what I believe to be personal training at it's core. One session of showing improvement of form/positions with photos as a metric; in another session pain reduction or the lack of pain from positions that hurt previously show improvement; the next client uses a heart rate monitor to actively show improvement. Regardless, it's important for people to recognize the improvements in our day to day movements/habits so we'll continue to be consistent.

If you can master two things you can truly learn to master yourself. Learn that consistency builds the habit/muscle/movement/pain reduction; and that recognition, builds the motivation to retain consistency. It's a lifestyle, not a fad. One day at a time, better than yesterday; two steps forward, one step backward is still forward. Good luck!

Also, if you've been sitting down for a bit, go for a walk.
